Reviews
35**MAIN POINTS**
1. They provided a much lower quote than other companies (16 CBM), then after packing increased it to 29 CBM—almost double.
2. My wife’s phone went missing from the kitchen countertop. We traced it to Royal Relocations’ warehouse. They said they likely packed it.
3. Several of our items were broken on arrival.
4. Their customer service is rude and unprofessional. Their English is poor, responses are often delayed by days, and once they had our money, they showed no care. They never apologized for any mistakes.
**DETAILS**
We got 3 quotes for moving from Malaysia to Korea. Two companies quoted around 20 CBM, while Royal Relocations quoted 16 CBM, so we chose them.
During packing, we noticed inefficiencies:
* They rarely disassembled furniture (e.g., chairs were boxed individually instead of dismantled).
* Small items (like a small artificial Christmas tree) were packed as separate boxes instead of consolidated.
* Unlike previous movers, they removed items from cupboards and packed them separately, increasing volume unnecessarily.
At the end, they revised the quote to 29 CBM—nearly double the original estimate.

**要点**

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We take all customer feedback seriously, and we appreciate the opportunity to review your concerns regarding your relocation from Malaysia to Korea.
Our management team has conducted an internal investigation in consultation with the assigned Removal Consultant, Mr. [Name removed by Sirelo], and the packing crew. Please find below our findings and explanations for your consideration.
1. Shipment Volume and Pricing (16 CBM vs. 29 CBM)
Our initial quotation was based on the items identified during the preliminary pre-move survey. During the survey, our Removal Consultant, Mr. [Name removed by Sirelo], explained that the contract included a buffer of up to 20 CBM. This meant that Royal Relocations would honour the contracted rate for a shipment volume of up to 20 CBM, at no additional charge.
However, within the first hour of packing on the first day, the packing supervisor informed us that the actual volume of the shipment was significantly higher than anticipated, at approximately 28–29 CBM.
Mr. [Name removed by Sirelo] immediately visited the site to discuss the matter with you. Following your agreement to proceed with the packing, the team continued with the scheduled work.
On the same day, Mr.[Name removed by Sirelo] informed you that the excess volume would be chargeable at RM100 per additional CBM. This was a preferential rate offered for the excess shipment volume.
Following our internal review, we understand that the difference between the initially quoted volume and the final shipment volume arose primarily because a significant number of additional items, which had not been presented during the preliminary survey, were included in the shipment. Consequently, the final volume increased to 29 CBM, and the quotation was adjusted accordingly to reflect the actual shipment volume.
2. Furniture Dismantling During Packing
Royal Relocations is a FIDI-accredited international moving company, and our services are delivered in accordance with recognised international moving industry standards and practices.
Furniture dismantling is included within our scope of service for specific items, namely dining tables, single, queen and king-size bed frames, and sofa legs. These items are dismantled at origin in Malaysia and reassembled at destination in Korea, as stipulated in the signed contract.
Chairs, however, are not included in the standard furniture dismantling service. Should a customer request chair dismantling, we would explain that reassembly at destination is not included in the contracted service. If reassembly is required, an additional handyman service would be arranged at the customer's expense, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. We would also refer the customer to the relevant furniture dismantling exclusions stipulated in the contract.
Based on our internal findings, no request was made to dismantle the chair on the packing day. This explains why the chair was not dismantled in Malaysia.
3. Packing of the Artificial Christmas Tree
Regarding your concern about the artificial Christmas tree being packed separately rather than consolidated with other items, our packing team adopted this approach to minimise the risk of damage.
Artificial Christmas trees typically consist of multiple leaves and branches that may become misshapen or damaged if compressed or packed together with other goods. Packing the tree separately helps protect its structure and minimise the risk of damage during transportation.
Furthermore, as the tree is relatively lightweight, individual packing allows it to be placed in the upper section of the container during loading, where appropriate. This is a precautionary measure intended to provide additional protection during transit.
Based on our assessment, we do not consider the separate packing of the Christmas tree to have been a major contributing factor to the increase in the overall shipment volume.
4. Missing Mobile Phone and Damaged Items
Regarding the missing mobile phone, management sincerely regrets the incident and apologises for the inconvenience caused.
Our investigation found that the packing crew had inadvertently packed the mobile phone into one of the shipment cartons. When you informed us that your phone's tracking signal indicated that it was at our warehouse, we immediately initiated an investigation. Based on the tracking information, we were able to establish that the device had most likely been packed with the household goods. Fortunately, the phone was eventually recovered in Korea upon delivery of the shipment.
Royal Relocations places considerable emphasis on packing quality and the protection of customers' belongings. We use high-quality, durable packing cartons and employ trained packing personnel to minimise the risk of damage during transportation.
Following delivery, we received a signed delivery report from our destination partner in Korea confirming the delivery of your shipment. However, the report did not contain any recorded remarks regarding damage to the items at the time of delivery. Had any damage been recorded in the delivery report, we would have been able to guide you through the appropriate claims procedure accordingly.
Nevertheless, we fully understand your disappointment upon discovering that several items had been damaged. Despite the care taken throughout the packing and shipping process, accidental damage can unfortunately occur. Management sincerely apologises for the damage to your belongings and the distress this incident has caused.
5. Customer Service Attitude
Management takes your concerns regarding our customer service attitude very seriously. We would appreciate the opportunity to understand the matter in greater detail so that we can review your feedback appropriately and take any necessary corrective action.
Please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] or by telephone at +60 12-201 9945. I would welcome the opportunity to hear more about your experience and address your concerns personally.
Once again, we appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to review the circumstances surrounding your relocation. While we regret the inconveniences you experienced, we value your comments as an opportunity to review our service delivery and identify areas for improvement.
Thank you for choosing Royal Relocations for your move from Malaysia to Korea. It was our pleasure to be of service to you, and we sincerely regret that certain aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations.
